About Nikhil D’Souza:
Nikhil is a Mumbai based artist. He completed his graduation with major subjects like Geology from St. Xavier’s college, Mumbai. Although, his subjects have been distinct from music, the passion for music never died in him. In fact, it only deepened as he grew closer to music. Nikhil is a self-taught musician and singer. I can’t resist some of Nikhil’s brilliant tracks that I must have heard repeatedly. Some of them include: Sang Hun Tere (Jannat 2), Dil Yeh Bekarar Kyun Hai (Players), and Hungama Ho Gaya (Queen). He shows keen interest to listen to Joni Mitchell and loves to play related music. On the other side, Melancholic sad songs are close to his heart.
“I was a favorite student of my teachers during school days and was mostly invited to perform singing for school activities.”
– Nikhil D’Souza
Nikhil is one of those rare performers who are titled as ‘freak’ in music. He was never born for a 9-5 job; Nikhil was born to perform. To add more surprise to your reading, Nikhil is a self-taught guitar player. His profound passion for music doesn’t end there; from playing in international bands to recording labels, Nikhil D’Souza has always been an explorer in his exciting music career.
“I was always inclined towards music and I am blessed that my destiny made it my profession.”
– Nikhil D’Souza
My meet with Nikhil D’Souza:
Nikhil will leave you speechless for his grounded nature and calm aura. There came a time when I was just munching with my sister and we did not exchange any words; that is the peaceful silence we enjoyed with Nikhil’s company. He is a very composed musician and singer, who enjoys his own company with music. We met at my favorite spot, Alfredo’s near Infinity Mall, Andheri for a quick mini dinner. It is a happening place and you must not miss the Masala Omelet served with fresh salad, finger chips, and warm red beans.
“The instrumental music of Tom and Jerry got into my head when I was a kid and I simply loved that!”
– Nikhil D’Souza
To share a fact, he is one of the rare personalities with whom you will enjoy silence over conversation. I did not find the need to exchange words despite the fact that we were there for an interview. That is the level of peace you will find when you are with him.
“The meaning and melody of the song is more important that the language.”
– Nikhil D’Souza
